Miner's knife or galluresa
In 1908, the government did not allow the use of knives with a point longer than four centimetres, while the knife with a dull blade could measure up to ten centimetres. The guspinesa was useful for spreading cheese, cutting sausages or peeling cardoons, but not as a weapon during the fights that broke out in the mines. Thus, the knife became the faithful companion of miners in the lands of Guspini, Montevecchio, Ingurtosu and Arbus or of shepherds who tended their flocks of sheep in solitude.
